Biography:
1929: Born in Yaizu City, Shizuoka Prefecture.
1945: Began studying at the atelier of Mr. Yoshinari Koga in Yaizu.
1951: Moved to Tokyo. Selected for the Watercolor League Exhibition, Nitten Exhibition, and Nika Exhibition. Studied under Mr. Chonan Yamaguchi, a member of the Nika Association.
1959: Held first solo exhibition in Ginza, Tokyo.
1961: Traveled to France in September.
Began studying at the renowned Atelier 17, where masters like Picasso and Miró learned printmaking.
1964: Held first solo exhibition of paintings (New Japanese Paintings) at the Philadelphia Gallery in Paris. Held first solo exhibition of prints at the Nouvelle Gravure Gallery. Debuted in the Parisian art scene with these two solo exhibitions. Since then, has held solo exhibitions in various European countries, the United States, South Africa, and Japan. (Works acquired by the Musée d'Art Moderne de Paris, the French Ministry of Culture, the Museum of Modern Art, New York, etc.)
1986: Created a poster and campaign for UNESCO on the theme of Science and Technology.
1991: Created a gold medal (approx. 1 kg) for a project by the Monnaie de Paris (Paris Mint).
Participated in a special commemorative exhibition of five artists at the Monnaie de Paris Grand Gallery.
