It is stated that the ceramic plate itself does not age and can maintain the texture and colors of the original artwork for approximately 1000 years, so the ceramic plate itself remains in vibrant and beautiful condition. However, the off-white framing around it has faint shadows that appear to be dust from age upon close inspection.
Some sellers offer only the ceramic plate, so it may be possible to remove it.
