Compared to a regular bamboo bridge, the sharp edges of the high-frequency tones are softened, resulting in an overall mellow sound. The mid-to-low frequencies gain more pressure, creating a deep, warm tone with a long, resonant sustain.

When attached to a sanshin with artificial skin or reinforced skin (double-layered), it reduces the artificial buzzing and harshness often heard, transforming the sound into a soft tone reminiscent of natural skin. The sustain of this soft tone then extends beautifully.

However, it is not well-suited for sanshin with naturally soft-tensioned skin or single-layered natural skin with 50-70% tension. The mid-to-low frequencies can become overly emphasized, resulting in a very unique sound.

Normally, commercially available bridges have two legs, but this one has a [four-leg] design, allowing it to be placed on either side and providing excellent stability.
