Rare Anton Radl Copperplate Etching with Hand Coloring
This is a hand-colored copperplate engraving reproduction depicting a landscape of old wooden houses in Hamburg Harbor, originally painted by Anton Radl around 1822. It is a highly decorative reproduction, meticulously hand-colored, of a valuable original landscape.
Anton Radl (1774-1852) was an Austrian painter and printmaker, primarily active in Frankfurt, Germany, known for his landscape paintings and copperplate engravings.
Acquired locally in 1999.
There is very little sign of age-related deterioration, including the frame.
